SRC-EDIH

About the project

Purpose

The SRC-EDIH 2.0 project is a European digital innovation hub that helps micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accelerate digital transformation free of charge. In the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity, we help them increase innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness through the use of advanced digital technologies.

The project builds on the experience of the previous three-year SRC-EDIH project (EN: Smart, Resilient and Sustainable Communities - European Digital Innovation Hub).

We offer a comprehensive range of services, including test-before-invest solutions, support in finding funding, training programmes, and access to regional and European innovation ecosystems.

Through links with European initiatives such as the AI-on-Demand Platform, AI Factories, and TEFs, we give SMEs access to the most advanced technologies and expertise with the goal of improving their digital maturity.

As a first contact point for artificial intelligence, we help companies test and introduce AI solutions tailored to their needs, while also providing initial support in understanding AI Act requirements. We also promote the responsible, safe, and ethical use of digital technologies.

We also help companies assess the environmental and economic effects of digital innovations before larger investments. By raising digital maturity and encouraging the use of European AI technologies, SRC-EDIH 2.0 contributes to the digital and green transition and strengthens Europe’s technological competitiveness and resilience.

Who funds the project?

50% is funded by the EU under the Digital Europe Programme and 50% by the Republic of Slovenia.

Mission

The digital maturity transformation process for SMEs enabled through the project

An SME completes a digital maturity assessment in three consecutive years, in 2026, 2027, and 2028. Each assessment is followed by a transformation plan and the implementation of measures.

Initial cycle

2026

Digital maturity assessment

The company completes its first digital maturity assessment and establishes a baseline for further transformation.

2

Transformation plan

Based on the findings, we prepare a focused plan with clear priorities and recommendations.

3

Implementation of measures

The company uses project services in the areas where it needs the greatest improvements.

The results of the 2026 cycle form the basis for the next annual digital maturity assessment.

Intermediate cycle

2027

Repeated digital maturity assessment

The second assessment shows progress, new risks, and areas that require additional support.

2

Updated transformation plan

The plan is adjusted to the new situation and directs further activities in 2027.

3

Further measures

This is followed by targeted measures, testing, training, and advisory support based on company needs.

The results of the 2027 cycle form the basis for the next annual digital maturity assessment.

Final cycle

2028

Third digital maturity assessment

The company assesses its digital maturity for the third time and checks the level of progress achieved.

2

Final transformation plan

The plan defines the next development steps and the longer-term direction after the project ends.

3

Implementation of final measures

The last measures are carried out to further strengthen the company’s digital maturity and resilience.

The results of the 2028 cycle form the basis for the final digital maturity status together with a proposal for the continued improvement of the company’s digital maturity after the project ends.
