Personal data and the purpose of processing

If you wish to receive project updates (news, event invitations, publications, and information about services), you must complete and submit forms such as the newsletter, registration, and contact form on the project website. By completing and submitting these forms, you provide us with your personal data.

The personal data you provide when submitting these forms is necessary for us to process your request and communicate with you regarding newsletters, events, and other project services to which you have subscribed or for which you have registered. If you do not provide the required personal data, we will not be able to process your request and you will not be able to use the requested project services.

We respect your privacy and are committed to handling the collection, storage, and processing of personal data carefully and in accordance with the applicable regulations on personal data protection. Because the project’s online information system contains links to other external websites that are not directly related to our project, we assume no responsibility for data protection on those websites.

To prevent unauthorised access to or disclosure of the data obtained, to maintain the accuracy of personal data, and to ensure their appropriate use, we use appropriate technical and organisational procedures to protect the data we collect, store, and process. However, we cannot entirely exclude possible misuse of data, as the internet remains an unpredictable medium despite security measures and communication protocols.

Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, the right to rectification, the right to erasure ("to be forgotten"), the right to data portability, the right to request restriction of processing, and the right to object. You may review and amend your data at any time via email at gzdbk@gzdbk.si.

When exercising any of your rights or obtaining additional information, please contact our data protection contact person at gzdbk@gzdbk.si. We will review your request and respond in accordance with the GDPR.

If you believe that your rights or personal data protection regulations have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with the competent national authority: the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Zaloška 59, 1000 Ljubljana, telephone: 01 230 97 30, fax: 01 230 97 78, email: gp.ip@ip-rs.si).

The European Commission’s platform for online dispute resolution is also available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.

Retention period for personal data

We store your personal data only for as long as is strictly necessary for the purpose of implementing the project. If you no longer wish to receive project updates and want to unsubscribe from our communications, or if you withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data for this purpose, we will block your data in our communication system and no longer use it for this purpose.

The retention period for personal data may differ depending on the applicable legislation and the project reporting requirements imposed by the European Commission and the Slovenian ministry financing and supervising the project. Data is deleted after the expiry of the retention period binding for the project.

Cookies

The public part of this website does not use marketing or profiling cookies for analytics. Where cookies are strictly necessary to provide the requested service, security, or sign-in to restricted parts of the website, we use them only for that purpose and only for as long as is necessary for the service to function.

If in the future we introduce optional cookies or other similar technologies for storing or accessing data on your device, these will be presented separately before use and, where required, your consent will be obtained.

Website analytics

We use Umami Analytics to monitor visits and use of the website. The tool is used to prepare aggregate statistics on visits to individual pages, traffic sources, and basic patterns of website use so that we can improve content and user experience.

We use Umami Analytics in a privacy-friendly configuration that does not use marketing or profiling cookies. For this purpose, we process limited technical usage data such as the page visited, approximate traffic source, device type, browser, language, and time of visit in aggregated or pseudonymised form.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, since this data allows us to monitor website performance, information security, and improve content and user experience. The data is not intended for the direct identification of individuals, is not used for profiling or automated decision-making, and access is limited to authorised persons and the contractual processor providing the service within the EU. If you have questions regarding this processing or wish to exercise your right to object, you can contact us at gzdbk@gzdbk.si.
